Families

Today I drove over to help collect some things Kate would like from her father’s home. Tensions seem to be rising between the adult children and his widow, their step-mother. They felt having a non-family member there might keep things calm and civilised. How wrong they were!

I was quite taken aback at first but when things were starting to be said that were extremely cruel and would be quite unforgivable I felt I had to step forward and stop it and stand up for my friend. Thankfully that seems to have worked and I later received an apology and things calmed down. It’s a long time since I saw someone behave quite so badly and I felt quite shaken up for the rest of the day. Still, all items collected, some are residing in my loft. Hopefully things will calm down now.
