Up the road a bit
Overcast today, but good enough to fetch the rest of the glass up from the garage and up the steps to the deck. I got it all cleaned ready to fit in the glasshouse, but then had to scoot off for a hospital appointment and then to drive a few miles up the coast to Barcaldine to offer some garden advice to a friend.
Her garden suffers like so many from overplanting years back by a keen shrub lover. Someday someone will say the same about mine, but as we get older we have to think about the next few years, not the next fifty or a hundred as I did when I was working!
Much enjoyed the sight of a beautiful Taxodium distichum in her neighbour's garden - the Swamp Cypress from Florida. Good to see that some people take the trouble to plant something which probably wasn't available in the nearest garden centre! My extra today is of a cluster of old tools leaning against the wall.
