The Heron Rule Applies Even On Mono Monday!

I had been passed on the trail by a couple of friends who asked me if I had gotten any good shots, to which I replied that I hadn't yet.  Yet was a very important qualifier in that statement, because just a few minutes later as I rounded the corner to cross the bridge, this Great Blue Heron and I startled each other!  To his credit, he did not fly away, but began a casual saunter away from me.  My shutter speed was too slow for the first several shots, but I did eventually get it to a good speed. By then he was more obscured by vegetation than I liked, but I kept shooting and got some acceptable shots which I have put into a collage in the extras.....
