Pocket Of Pink

In previous years I have incorrectly labelled these Wild Phlox. They are in fact Dame's Rocket, distinguishable by having four petals as opposed to five of the phlox. The significance of my error is in that Wild Phlox are native whereas Dame's Rocket is an invasive species.

It's somewhat unfortunate because they are quite attractive and brighten up the landscape otherwise bedecked in green. I shall have to look out for the Phlox, which flowers later, in the summer and autumn.

Rather difficult to frame this shot because of branches coming in at all angles. A bit of shuffling around required to find a reasonably open view.
