Hey, Hay

This weekend farmers have been scuttling around doing the second grass sillage cut of the year, so it was with some surprise saw a farmer this evening bringing in his first cut of the year hay. Very few still go the trouble of making hay. I wish silage was banned! Ruins our countryside & the health of our animals and as I have said in the past, only fresh grass & hay fed cows can give milk that can be made into cheese without the addition of artificial substances.
