Ominous sky

The first real blast of winter arrived late afternoon, cold air coming from the Cape that has a good layer of snow in parts.

The gathering clouds didn’t help as they blocked what was still warm afternoon sun so it was swiftly home, Shiv taken on her outing, before battening down the hatches and lighting the fire.

What we didn’t expect was the storm that is now overhead with a battering of hail as we are making our way to bed. Some duvet time is beckoning. Thankfully Thursday is a public holiday so we will get the chance to avoid the real chill of the morning at least once this week.
