Toetoe

(Pronounced toy-toy.)

This is the dam on S&N’s property which we walk past most days. S&N give us free rein to walk around their 10 acre lifestyle block whenever we like, in exchange for a weekly box of eggs.

They have planted it up with a mixture of exotics - ash, poplar, oak, pine - and natives - predominantly the toetoes.

Toetoe is a native grass. It is similar to but not the same as pampas which is an invasive species from South America and which I blipped about in April.

It’s been a lovely day Chez Mima. The weather was calm and mostly sunny. I divided my time between the kitchen and the garden.
