Garden blooms

I had the loveliest morning with some friends who came to have coffee and scones in the garden. The sun shone intermittently and it was so great to have pals round!

I snipped some flowers from around the garden and plonked them in my heaviest jug - an antique ship’s jug from a transatlantic vessel, one of the Ards Man’s finds. The metal jug is heavy enough that it laughs in the face of the storm-force winds that sometimes blast across the garden (we’re at the top of a hill).

The flowers have stayed on the garden table all day and every time I spotted them outside it made me smile. Flowers are a gift, really.
