"the taste of home"

This weekend mum had been suffering with a cold and when she gets a cold she gets a cough, and boy does she cough! She coughs harder than any man would! So much so that she had been suffering all weekend with a terrible pain but decided not to give in to it as she wanted to see my skydive and let me visit Ardverikie. But today the pain got too much for her and sadly her and dad had to leave Dundee a day earlier than planned. :(

This meant no trip to the Discovery boat at the waterfront or lunch at the newly discovered Jessie's Kitchen in Broughty Ferry to end our weekend together. Instead it meant for a very strange day, just waiting for 2.30pm to arrive when they would have to leave. It's never nice leaving something early, but mum's health is more important and it has still been lovely to have them over.

However, mum always comes prepared with goodies from home and so as she and dad left, this cake was still here! It's a 'Mum's Chocolate Cake' which for those of you lucky few who have tasted it is a prized possession! Only trouble is, it never lasts long enough! :(

O, and the pain mum was suffering from...a cracked rib!!!!! She had managed to cough so hard that she has cracked one of her ribs!
