Juice2023
Recently we purchased the last supply of the local village's apple juice for this year. (In practical terms it just means we'll have to get juice from, oh, 2 more miles away).
For a leg stretch after lunch the three of us wandered along to one of the village orchards to see how next year's supply was coming on.
We were intrigued to see a eucalyptus plantation beyond the orchard, a lot of which had been felled and logged into relatively short logs. The only obvious use (for logs too short for timber, too long for conventional log burners) would seem to be as biofuel, but then there didn't seem enough to be a viable crop volume. Odd.
