Work and a musical
I worked on and off during the day, but had to pop over to Mum’s in the afternoon to sort out a couple of issues for her. Getting old is not easy and I really feel for her.
This evening we went into the city for a meal at a favourite restaurant, Mezze, and then to see Chess the Musical at the Kiri Te Kanawa Theatre in the Aotea Centre. I must admit to being somewhat disappointed with Chess. The music was wonderful, but played much too loud, thereby drowning out the singers and making it impossible to hear the words and understand the story. It was almost as if the singers and musicians were in a competition to see who could drown out the other. Despite that, it was an enjoyable evening out.
As we stopped at an intersection waiting to cross Sky Tower was lit up a brilliant shade of blue. Then we entered the theatre to find that the stage area was lit in the same blue, as can be seen in the blip.
