The grave of Daisy Rowe
At the southernmost point of the continent of Africa, Cape Agulhas, the grave of Daisy Rowe is to be found.
"A. Rowe, the lightkeeper at the Lighthouse was stationed at the Lighthouse from 1899 to 1901. His daughter, Daisy Rowe, passed away on 28 January 1899 of diphtheria when she was only seven months old. Her grave is the southernmost grave in Africa and is located where you come into the parking area, inside the round-about, of the lighthouse at Cape L'Agulhas. When the parking area's building operations commenced, the site was upgraded, resulting in the walls of the grave to be extended. Die original cross tombstone was found broken under the sand and re-erected on the grave. "
This point is also the convergence point of the Indian and Atlantic oceans ... referred to as the Two Oceans ... there is a marathon, a cycle event and even wines named after these oceans ..
