Birthplace of Aphrodite

We drove to the excavated site of Kourion along the old road to Limassol. On the way the sea scenery is quite beautiful and dramatic. The road passes by these rocks known as Aphrodite's birthplace. At Kourion the Roman remains are impressive particularly the theatre and the mosaics. The day was not without incident as while we were on the site there was a quite amazing change in the weather and we had to shelter from a torrential downpour.....shortly after the sun came out again!
