Island

Well, this was what a heat wave looks like in the North of England - quite warm, about 17C, but very overcast. We went to Foulney Island Nature Reserve near Barrow. Crunching along the shingle path, we passed a warden who asked if we were there to watch the high tide ! It meant we would have been marooned for about 4 hours so we made a hasty retreat. This photo is looking back to where we had been before the sea had breached the sea wall .
