She suffered from depression and when he phoned her and she repeatedly said she was feeling a little down, wondering why she should go on, he finally suggested he could solve it all and call someone to ‘do her in’. She thought this was hilarious and it lit up her dark sense of humour that had been hidden away. When his response to “You’ll miss me when I’m gone” was “No I won’t, I’m getting you stuffed and putting you next to my front door” she proudly told her friends of her son’s taxidermal promise.
