Hampstead Heath

Spent yet another wonderful weekend wandering around the streets of London. Having made our way to the Embankment to see the runners compete in the London Marathon, we then sat & had lunch in the Victoria Embankment Garden. It was a glorious day.

We then made our way to St Pancras Station & ambled along the canal to Camden Town where we had a mooch around & a swift drink in The Hawley Arms.

So thankful for the longer days of spring we made our way to Hampstead Heath & strolled amongst fallen trees pausing every so often to take photographs & watch Kestrels & Woodpeckers going about their daily business..... Blissful!

Although the climax of our stroll was finding ourselves at the top of Parliament Hill with the entire London skyline laid out on the horizon, which was indeed worth of many a shot, this image was captured upon our arrival at the Heath & to me represents an idyll of peace & tranquility.
