Sevilla day 2

We have done a lot of walking today which is a killer in 39 degree heat!

We started off near where we are staying and covered the main sites, lots of churches and lovely town hall. We then walked down to the river and came across the bull ring Plaza de Toros de La Maestranza. We decided to go in as I’d never been in one before and the building was stunning I found out later there was a bull fight the evening before I thought they no longer happened.

After the bull ring we went to the area where the cathedral is but the queue was too big to go in so we carried on walking down to Parque Maria Luisa it has a beautiful building with a lake called Plaza de Espana where yesterday Christian Dior had hired it for private use for a catwalk show. Lots of people seemed to have red carnation flowers which were left over from the Dior catwalk show, I dread to think how much all of the flowers cost them!

We were all walked out so back to the hotel and a bit of time spent in the pool.

Tonight we booked a tapas and wine tasting tour, we went to 5 different restaurants and in each one tried a couple of local dishes which we would never have ordered or even known what it was. The first place gave us snails which I was very reluctant to try but I did have one just to say I’ve tried one, it didn't taste bad but it just the thought. We had a really good guide who took us to local restaurants and also gave us some history of Seville, we ended up our until 3am with a few of the people on our tour not sure how that happened! A long day!
