Another Postal Milestone

I did warn you that there might be a series of Postal Milestones after blipping the second one in Colinton.

Opposite The Hunters Tryst, of the four that I've seen so far this is easily the cleanest and most complete; the inscription is perfectly preserved (apart from the head of the number five, which appears to have been cut into the wall) and the date (in this case 1824) is clear.

Had I seen this first instead of this one there would have been no speculation as to the purpose of the stone, although it is gratifying to see that I was correct, word for word!
