Around and about

Today was to be a beautiful sunny day on Mull, dry but with a gentle breeze. We set off for our favourite beach at Ardalanish with a summery salad picnic. Having parked and walked down to the beach we were slightly surprised - oh no we weren't! - to get caught out in a shower from which it was hard to shelter in the fierce wind. When that was over we made our way along the beach and found a spot more or less out of the wind where we sat on the rocks and ate our salad. The beach is a very interesting one geologically and the rocks are also full of thrift growing in the crevices.

We weren't the only visitors, as my extra shows! We did see a few people too, but only in the distance. We walked back to the Ardalanish Weavers farm between waving grasses - there are some lovely meadows here complete with orchids - and drove back to Bunessan, stopping to look at some abandoned houses, of which there are many on Mull. We also stopped off at the Community Garden before arriving back at Daughter One's house. A lovely day, in spite of the unpredictable weather!
