My Hermes

I met a friend at the glorious V&A in London for the Masculinities exhibition, it did not disappoint. All the pieces in the show were really well curated, telling the story of men’s clothing and how historical designs are connected to modern male clothing. The first room contained several classical statues which illustrated the idealising of the male form. Today’s blip is of Hermes’ foot, in the background (right side) is a reframing of the Three Graces and underwear on the left.

There’s quite a bit about gender fluidity, which was fascinating and insightful. Lots of the clothes are absolutely beautiful, they all have a story that’s worth knowing.
