What an exciting day.
Andy the painter arrived to work his magic, and after moving a bookcase, we found the spot where Pedro the hamster hid for a few days last year....a lovely little hamster nest ! At first I thought it had been a mouse, but I recognised the bedding. The wee monster must have been planning an escape for days to build up such a cosy bed!
I had my Job Seeker Application interview at a Job centre in a part of Edinburgh you should never linger. I was about 40 minutes early and I was going to go for coffee somewhere when I remembered the local 'Plaza' only had Cash Convertors, Iceland, and Pay Day Loan offices (oh and somewhere to sell your gold). They must all be dog lovers too, as I have never seen so many tied up outside.
Inside the Job Centre Plus (plus what? I asked myself....maybe it has a Starbucks too?) I was greeted by 2 burly Security guards, checking I didn't have a loaded ipod in my hoody.
The actual interview was very pleasant. Although I was alarmed to see the Visual Basic application they use for logging applications didn't have a job category for me (IT Developer) - lots of IT Call Centre ones, and (for some reason) Pilots and Aircraft attendants.
They must get a lot of high flyers in the area (chemically induced).
So sorry - I honestly hope I haven't offended anyone. It is a sad place, and thankfully I only have to go back every two weeks.
This evening's photography group - we discussed the topic of Fill In Flash. Very enlightening (sic).
