Budapest by Night
A coffee with Elle before saying goodbye to Vienna and boarding a bus to Budapest. The journey was three hours, but was actually a good excuse to doze and listen to iPods and have a break from running about! Arrived in Budapest with no currency, no Hungarian vocab and in 30 degree heat! Spent quite a while trying to track down a cash machine, but was plain sailing once we did. Made it over to Maddie's old school friend Chris's, who very kindly let us stay with her for the rest of our trip!
Had a chill out before going for a wander in the lovely evening sun to Hero's Square, where this photo was taken. I'm pretty pleased with it, not having done a lot of night photography before. The trails came out quite well and I like how the monument is lit up. Had a fun walk back to Chris's just chatting rubbish, which we seem to manage to do quite well. Chris then took us to this awesome patisserie/sweet shop where I had an amazing chocolate and coconut milkshake, before Maddie and I headed to this awesome bar, Szimpla, converted out of a disheveled ruin of an old building - so, so cool. Cocktails and bed!
