Snail protection
This is in our mini green house that Dan put together last year. He is growing cucumbers, okra and peppers in here. The ducks, at this point, are not in this area and he noticed that his veggies are getting chomped by our nemesis. He had a bunch of scrap lumber and made these little boxes. The cukes have reemay stapled over the top since they are still so small. The peppers and okra have a band of copper around them. His thinking is it will oxidize and hopefully the snails won't want to cross it.... It's all an experiment. It's very neat and tidy and not like Dan's general planting method :-) I really like the way they look and thought it blip worthy.
I will get some boxes to put around my melon plants once I plant them out. They look so beautiful now in their little pots but once in the ground they are fair game for the bugs.
This is an early posting since I found out I've been asked to come sing with a small group from our choir this evening. I'm looking forward to it!
