Lake Como

Arose from a slightly disturbed sleep at 5 am, wash and on the way to the airport. The plane was more than an hour late leaving Aberdeen, and when it arrived at Heathrow it was a domestic arrival on an international stand. Even later after a bus takes us back to domestic arrivals.

Make our way back to the international departures for our flight to Milan. Flight leaves late, then coming into Milan decides to take the tourist route on approach to the airport, so arrive late here as well. Still having originally booked on Lufthansa who decided to go on strike and cancel all flights I suppose we are lucky to get here today.

Pick up car and head for Lake Como. The satnav decides I might like to visit Lugano on the way, had to pay 35 Euro to the Swiss motorway in order to save 15 minutes according to the satnav, only the satnav had not said we were going to take a detour via Switzerland.

21:15 arrive at our hotel, check in and park the car. 21.25 arrive in the Pizzeria Constantin in Menaggio, at last it is all worthwhile!
