Early Morning...

I was up and out by 4:45am today & well worth it. It was such a gorgeous start to the day. The barn owls were not out & neither were the shorties...so off I went for a walk. I found this roe buck in a bit of scrub close to the road & also near here, a stoat...just managed a pic of that one. 

I went back to the shorties later on & they were out, but distant. Next to Black Syke in another attempt to find a water vole. Well, I did! Not one, but two, and they were having a big squabble. I put a video of it all on Twitter - here. In all the years I've been watching water voles, I've rarely seen two together, let alone having such a squabble. It's very entertaining to watch :)
