Scarborough North Bay
We had a lazy morning. I didn't wake until 9.20, but we did have a very late night.
We promised ourselves a last breakfast out in what had become our favourite cafe at the top of the high street in Pickering. Nothing for me, I just had toast and jam, and a nice pot of tea. It's so much nicer when someone does it for you - and it was. Jon had pancakes with maple syrup and bacon, and coffee. Then a wander back through the market, marvelling that we have been here a full week today. Nothing more to buy, we went back to the tent for coffee. Then a lazy afternoon until about 3. It was very warm today - how lucky we have been with the weather.
Then we drove to Scarborough - initially to see if we could get our towing electrics checked but ended up wandering along the bay. Had an ice cream, then walked all the way up the hill and back down the othersode through town to the south bay. By then it was 6, so we bought fish and chips and sat on the beach, dodging the demon gulls.
Home via a petrol station and Lidl. Today is the end of our proper holiday. We are heading up to Edinburgh tomorrow. I may not have any signal - I definitely won't have electric hook up, so need to charge everything before we go. A few days at the Highland Show awaits us.
