One of the locals

I’m not sure where this hawk lives, but he’s definitely dining in our yard a lot. Today I was out playing with Max and the hawk came from behind him and was only a few feet above his head. Luckily he was behind him as I’m not sure what Max would do. He’s jumped up to catch a couple of butterflies and moths, but I’m not sure how he would react to a big bird.
The hawk gave me a little side eye as he passed and then just glided away.
