Aberfeldy to Grandtully.

Today we chose a walk along the River Tay from Aberfeldy to Grandtully.

It started beautifully with lovely wild flowers along the river bank and sheep in the field but then followed a disused railway line which meant, for the greater part, we were walking along a cutting with no view.

Arriving at Grandtully we ate lunch looking out at the river where white water kayaking takes place, from the extra you can see on this occasion I was unable to get to the rocks in the middle!!

For the return journey we crossed the river and followed a quiet country road which had much better views.

It turned out to be a long walk, 10.6 miles, but nice to do.

On first getting to Aberfeldy we found a lovely deli, bakery and zero waste shop, also the co-op there holds much more so it might become the place to shop for supplies in future. The deli also sells its own gin which is rather nice.
