Bushtits
We stayed the night in Silver City, a mining town in southwest New Mexico which I understand is getting a name for itself for art, leisure, history etc. According to the promotional literature it gets 360 days of sunshine a year and its art galleries rival those of Santa Fe. We went to the old town on Saturday evening and it was totally empty, apart from a rather good blues guitar-playing busker on a street corner with no-one apart from us within hearing distance. The town had a pleasant feel but it's nothing like Santa Fe.
In the Gila Forest the next morning we encountered a little flock of these delightful bushtits, very different here from the rather drab grey things we saw in Vancouver.
