Day 172/22. St Michaels Mount, the wrong way...

We visited St Michaels Mount today. And what a spectacular place it is.
The tide was in all day, so we made the 10 minute crossing to the island by boat.
As we returned to the mainland, again by boat, this intrepid group in today's picture decided that despite the signs saying the causeway would not open to 4:15pm, they could cross on foot at 2:00pm......
They couldn't.
They got about 200 metres out when the water was up to their thighs then abandoned their foolhardy trek. I guess they then paid the £2.50 to cross by boat..... I guess they thought they knew better....
