Blue Lagoon, Lighthouses, Fumaroles & Fisherfolk
Today we took a day-long tour of some of the scenic areas around Reykjavik. We visited the famous Blue Lagoon with its otherworldly pale blue waters, we marveled at the wild ocean crashing against volcanic cliffs, gazed at a lonely lighthouse, and carefully skirted several bubbling mud pots, fumaroles, and steam vents. (See extra!)
But the photograph of the day has to be these two adorable young ladies who were taking part in a competition to see which child could catch the biggest fish in Hafnarfjörður a town close to Reykjavik. They were so pleased with their prize fish, and were just beaming from ear to ear!
Apologies for lack of commenting, but the internet signal comes and goes so fast on this ship it makes my head spin ... takes FOREVER to upload pictures!!!
