Sunset peony

The rains have battered them but we cut a few and brought them inside and now the house is delicately scented by peonies. Always one of my favourite but fleeting moments of the year when the peonies bloom.
I feel work is taking up too much of my life currently - it sometimes feels like life is racing ever faster and I have not been nearly attentive enough to the transient beauties around me...
