For the first time in a long time I need a passport. It is more expensive than the identity card I still have, which is only the size of a bank card.
We are preparing for the postponed trip to the Outer Hebrides in August. A passport was step 3, as we had already discussed step 1, the route, and step 2, the ferry, more than two years ago. Fortunately we can still use our ferry ticket.
The physical preparation for the bike ride is a bit more difficult to achieve. We make most of the cycling hours on the weekends and that feels like bad preparation.
I sometimes wonder out loud if I wouldn't rather go on a fully catered cruise ;-)
