Back to the swallows
No more gloom about sectarian bonfires today. Richard had some paperwork to sort out with Diana in Larne. It was a warm, sunny morning so I walked down to the Glenarm river mouth, and then up the main street.
Young swallows were trying out their wings over the river, using some railings as a take-off point and a place to come back and have a break together. Some were presenting a gape, optimistically, to passing adult birds; but I think the parents have decided that it's time the youngsters caught their own dinners.
And then there were a few along the main street too, sometimes skimming past cars and houses almost at ground level (main). Such a pleasure to watch them, and to hear their distinctive chatter.
