The cat and the cobbles
Cathy and I took the south West coastal path from where we are staying to Clovelly this afternoon, arriving at about 4:30pm. We timed things just about to perfection as the little village was practically empty of tourists by then. It was a warm afternoon, but fortunately much of the walk was in woods at the top of the cliffs. While this did mean that the view of the sea was generally obscured, it also stopped us frying.
As you can see, anyone sensible (i.e. the ginger cat) is sitting in the shade at this point of the afternoon, taking it easy.
The very bright conditions made photography difficult, but I think this gives a good feel for the day. Shortly after this we stopped for some very welcome refreshments, before retracing our steps. By the time we got back we were both hot and tired, but it had been well worth the effort. Tomorrow might be a bit of an easier day though!
