The Gnomes!!

John was working so with Mum and Brian up staying we decided on a drive across to Deeside. Foggy as we went over the Cairn unfortunately so none of the gloreous views you can get on a lovely day and the piles of snow still lying along the side of the road showed how recently the road ahd been closed. We bore right at the "Tardis" as the kids call it, and right again in Banchory, making our way to Crathes Castle.

After a very nice lunch in the cafe and a good nose around the castle we took a quick walk around what is usually a beautiful walled garden, but the late spring meant that other than a few spring bulbs there was very little colour.
