Transporation......Look Carefully.......

Another Bonsai and Vocabulary Word.
This is my Ficus, but more than that, look at the leaves.....
They are mostly, all curled.    It is the behavior of a plant that is stressed in the high temperatures.   They are unable to bring up enough water to cool off the leaves.   TherEfore they curl their edges away from the sun in an attempt to avoid the direct sun RAYS s and cool off.   This process is called TRANSPORATION.   During the hot days of Florida I will often go out at noon and water again.   It provides more moisture to move up the plant, and 2. it cools the pot off, there by cooling the roots off.   It's one of the many  different things we do to support Bonsai plant life.
