GB'S BRAIN

Several years ago we nicknamed this plant after a politician that we thought was a bit dumb. This morning I reconsidered and now realize that we have paid the man a huge compliment as this plant has adapted to its harsh environment in a unique way. During the hot dry months it grows a white paper like covering that protects it and conserves water. As soon as the rain falls, the plant absorbs the moisture, swells and bursting through the paper shell produces tiny flowers.
