Hedgerow promise..

Out on my walk this afternoon I was noting the position of the Sloe or Blackthorn bushes (Prunus Spinosa). They are coming into flower now and are a promise of Sloes to come in the autumn (hopefully). I love making Sloe Gin (and drinking it!!) and hope these flowers may develop later into the astringent fruit and also that I remember where they are come the fruiting season!!

Meanwhile it is wonderful to have the blossom in the hedgerows.. a real sign of the countryside awakening after the long winter
