Bus Pass Walk

Very warm today so we decided it would be good to walk through woodlands to keep cooler.  Bus to Gilstead then a walk through Milner Field and past the river and canal and into Hirst Woods. View of the river here as we crossed the bridge - the reflections were intense and it was hard to see which way was up in some of the photos I took.  Then back to Bingley along the canal for refreshments at The Loft.  We were discussing local lad, and Bingley St Ives player Billy Foster’s success as caddy in the US open, and as we walked out of The Loft we ran into his in-laws whom we had also been mentioning. Billy has caddied for some of the big names in golf for 40 years, but never when they have won a major tournament - must be his year! My late hubby would have been pleased - he had a lot of time for Billy. Normally on this date I would have a wander round St Ives as it is 6 years since Joe died, but it was nice to be with friends and go somewhere different. It doesn’t seem that long at all, but things have to move along.
