Dinton Castle / Folly
Got up & went to the NOC & saw Denos regarding my boots which are coming along well but not quite ready to wear.
Afterwards went to see Roger Gundell about my crumbling hip. He replaced my right hip 13 years ago & he reckons it is looking quite good considering. My left hip has deteriorated but should be ok if I am careful, no need for any op as yet but I will see him again in 12months.
On the way home we passed Dinton Folly or Castle - not sure which it really is. Anyhow it was built by a chap named John Vanhatten (of Dinton Hall see previous blip) in 1769 to house his collection of fossils & minerals. If you look carefully you can see that there are ammonites set into the stonework.
Home now for roast chicken & veg.
It has been warm & sunny most of the day & got quite hot this afternoon.
Spoke to Keith about next week.
Peter wandered over to say that following an hospital appointment today he had got to have an op to remove the kidney stones which have been giving him alot of pain.
Happy St Georges Day everyone !
