Mallard Drake - poised for action

Today I took one of my grandsons to Murdock Park. His favourite thing is ducks and the Rangers there don’t forbid the traditional throwing of bread in reasonable quantities. This chap found a half submerged log to perch on, presumably to give himself a head start in the scramble, or perhaps just to keep his feet dry.
My grandson’s parents and his big brother were at the nursery graduation ceremony. I find this a bizarre concept, presumably one which has travelled across the pond. The 4 year olds have no concept of graduation but our one appears to have enjoyed his moment in the limelight, dressing up and performing their party pieces. He certainly enjoyed the party afterwards and was asleep on the sofa by 5:30pm. The extra was taken by his Mum.
