End of the Day

A cool and damp start to the day as we queued for everything. Toilets. Coffee. The showers weren’t even worth considering, but then, we’re from a generation that had a bath once a week, and were none the worse for it. Ahem.
So! Glastonbury kicks off with a surprise broadcast by President Zelensky, hailing freedom. And then straight into the Libertines. Wowza. Then Wet Leg at the Park, Crowded House, Wolf Alice, Robert Plant & Alison Krauss at the Pyramid, Saint Etienne at the Park and English Teacher at Strummerville. Too many high points to record but swigging rum with a new pal at the Libertines (a terrific set), hearing Plant sing Rock’n’Roll and yes, shaking a leg to it, and the reaction of the crowd at Saint Etienne’s set when the sun suddenly burst out were all up there. And we got to lounge plenty, avoiding the crowds and that rushing about stuff. Who needs headliners? We’re old hands now, after all. OK it’s only our second ever but old hands? We’ve certainly got those.
