Cognac For Two

We were off over the sea to Fife for a delayed night out with Mr N and Mrs H tonight in Dunfermline, We'd originally planned to go for a meal and tour round some pubs, maybe some I used to haunt, ooh, 40 years ago. However, as a surprise, Mr N had arranged for us to go see a gig after our meal (which was very nice by the way) at the Fire Station, to see The Cognac Twins, wait I've heard of them, in fact Mr J was blipped last night by blipper JustJane.

It was a bit weird, because I follow Jane's lovely journal and she regularly blips her family (is Midge the cutest dog on blip or what) and like any social media interaction with people you have never met, particularly blipfoto,  you kind of think you know them, even thought you absolutely don't.

Anyway, during their intermission, Mr J came up to our table and said he recognised me, and all I could think was maybe he had seen a blip of me from Jane's blip followers posts, but that seems a bit a push, so it may have been a case of mistaken identity. However, it's a very small world, Mr N is in the same running club as Jane, and even more randomly, the table next to us was full of women runners from the same club which Mr J also did not realise. There were just too many coincidences...

Right, to make a long story EVEN longer, Mr N and I switched to drinking Joker IPA, then The Cognac Twins played The Joker by the SM band. Later they played Stuck in the Middle Of You, with jokers to the right, Mr J asked one of the women runners to do 2 laps round the bar while they played another song which she did, The Cognac Twins were treated with 2 rounds of Cognac from the audience and at one point I thought, oh is that where there they got their name, but in the last 5 minutes I have remember the Cocteau Twins and maybe it is that, why did it take me so long to work that out.

OMG how I have rambled, but there have been far too many coincidences tonight for them to actually be coincidences, but whatever, it was a treat to see The Cognac Twins, such great performers and even got us dancing by the end, and Mr J even even bid us farewall as we left afterwards, nice to meet you! A night of the unexpected, I will skeep well tonight, or is that the Jokers talking.
