Full on
Busy, active day with much nicer weather than we’d expected. We wanted to start with a walk as it had seemed rain might arrive this afternoon (it didn’t!), so we drove down to Carlops and did a loop up to the reservoir from there. Only passed two lone walkers the whole way, and no dogs so it was bliss…Paisley really enjoyed it and was interested in all the cows with their calves but nonplussed about the sheep (extra). Lots of birds and wildflowers, and a good combination of a wide path on the way up and more of a scramble down a riverside track through fields on the way back.
Home for a wee while before we went down to town….stopped at the edge of the Grassmarket to see the (huge!) Pride march going by….went on for ages with lots of great costumes and smiles, but no floats this year and only two lots of drummers. Interesting to see several groups obviously sponsored by their companies, with stickers and fans and other giveaways as they walked past.
Once the street was cleared again we went down to get some skin care stuff then had a cup of tea and A visited a friend she’s going to help out next week whilst I went to buy some eclairs for later (extra).
Home via the supermarket, a bit whacked out, and we both promptly fell asleep on the sofas!
Later, A sorted out the bathroom basin that’s not been draining (looks like we’ll need to replace a part, annoyingly) whilst I made a late supper and we watched some Glastonbury sets.
19,500 steps today!
