Change of plans!
Pre-covid, much of our summers were spent at music festivals - any and every one we could get to. Just love the atmosphere and, of course, the wide range of artists, many of whom we would never have heard of otherwise.
When I was a teenager, I sang in a band and had friends in another (much better!) one and I used to love all piling into the back of a transit van, sleeping in a tent and being part of both the performers and the ‘road crew’. Now, as mere spectators, one of our favourites has always been the British Summer Time event in Hyde Park. Elton John was headlining on Friday but we’ve already got tickets to see him later this year, the Rolling Stones were on last night but (bleh) not fussed about that, so we got tickets for today.
Unfortunately, it’s 99.9% certain we won’t be able to get a train home until sometime Tuesday afternoon so we’ve given up on that and I shall just be spending the day doing housework, chasing butterflies in the garden and reminiscing about my long lost youth!
