Tortworth Court
This is the Victorian pile we stayed in last night. Grade II listed and once home to the Ducie family for 300 years. It was rebuilt between 1849-1953 and is now a corporate hotel. The surroundings are beautiful with its own arboretum and formal gardens and a long drive. Quite a few people staying there as there was a wedding reception in the large glass "Orangery" outside. After a leisurely breakfast and sitting in the gardens we drove to a friend's 80th birthday lunch about half an hour away and enjoyed a delicious meal sitting under the trees in their garden. We then drove south and home again visiting another friend on the way for tea. So much eating!
