The other landscape
I was looking last night at some picture by Fernando Puche - he is a photographer who has been re visiting some locations where he took 'traditional' landscape photos over the last 15 years, looking for a different more contemporary view.
This is similar from me looking above a rather dull landscape to the decaying jet trails in the sky.
The little rainbow dot is not an error of lens flare but is really there in the sky, I think this is iridescence where the sunlight reflects off the tiny particles in the cloud just perfectly to create a partially-colored cloud. If the cloud is small enough, it can actually color the whole cloud. if its a very thin cloud then you only see the iridescence and can't see the cloud any more.
