God's Answer To Hard Questions In A Difficult Time
On any given Sunday morning at FBC, there are certain things you can be sure of as you walk through our doors. You can be sure that you will find people who will welcome you to join with us as we engage in prayer, sweet fellowship, congregational worship and praise led by Daniel, our choir, orchestra and praise band and that you will hear a message from God's Word from the pulpit. Indeed, that is exactly what happened this morning! We began by joining our hearts and voices in congregational praise, followed by a lively version of "The River Is Here" from the choir, orchestra and our talented accompanists! After a little more congregational singing, it was time to hear what God had laid on our pastor's heart to share with us. We have just finished up with Jonah whose story you probably were at least a little familiar with, but today we were introduced to one of the minor prophets named Habakkuk, who lived in some really difficult times when wickedness and sin were celebrated and encouraged by those in power and so Habakkuk had some questions for God. His questions included such things as: "Where are you, God?", "Why aren't you doing anything about all this evil that is being done?" and " Why would You choose to use another wicked group of people to discipline Your own people?". God never chastised Habakkuk for asking the questions----God can handle our honest questions, but He will answer on His schedule in His way, so sometimes God's answer is "Wait, watch and see what I will do". And there is still more to come....If you didn't hear the sermon yet, the Live-stream is worth your time to watch.......
