Looking over its shoulder

A brisk walk after getting home. Saw a container of lemons and limes with a sign indicating that they were free. We like and use lemons. The weekend before last, I took half a dozen off the very heavily laden tree at the beach house and brought them back. I left all those being given away to those with more need.

Later in the walk I heard a Kereru fly past. Spotted it and started to get the camera ready. Thought I heard one somewhere nearby, and then the one I had seen flew fast and low away. Typical, thought I. And then I saw this one lower down and tucked away behind the foliage and branches. Still making a good photo.
